Congratulations on having been admitted to Ramjas College.
Now that you are a student of the College, you are welcome to
apply for residence in the Hostel, located in the premises of the
college. The College was founded by Rai Sahab Kedar Nath (in
memory of his father Lala Ramjas Mal) who undertook
'Sarvasawa Dan' (Total Renunciation) and was the founder of
the Ramjas Society, established in 1912. The Hostel has always
formed an integral part of the College since its Anand Parvat
days. The College shifted to the Delhi University Campus in 1954 and the Hostel was
built in the same year.
The Hostel has two distinct and separate sections, divided into blocks. Two blocks on
the first floor have been developed exclusively into a self-contained unit to
accommodate women students. The remaining four blocks have been retained for
occupation by men students. All community areas like dining, common room,
washrooms, lobby, terrace/lawns, etc. are provided separately for men and women. All
service staff for the women section are dedicated , and exclusively retained to ensure
the comfort and safety of women residents.
Ramjas Hostel provides a home-like environment for the growth and development of
its residents, ensuring at the same time attributes of discipline, care, concern and
conscientious disposition. it has accommodation for two hundred students.
The Hostel Committee, under the Chairpersonship of the Principal, frames the rules
and regulations of the Hostel and is the final authority in matters concerning the
Hostel. The Hostel provides accommodation during the operative academic session;
i.e. 18 July to 30 April of every academic year.
